The SWL-FOUNDATION is a non-governmental organization established to address significant needs and gaps within the community. Founded to improve the lives of Somali women in Somalia, SWL-FOUNDATION operates on the belief that empowering and supporting women can lead to meaningful changes. Our main goal is to decrease the incidence of violence against women by providing them with knowledge, promoting economic independence, and advocating for women's rights. By enhancing women's education and living standards, we aim to strengthen not just individual women, but also their families. SWL-FOUNDATION's efforts focus on grassroots women and include education, prevention, advocacy, and collaboration with women's groups to drive community development and foster peace.
Dedicated to improving the lives of Somali women and girls, our mission is to foster sustainable education and economic growth, uphold good governance, protect human rights, and champion gender equality and equity. We aim to support those in Somalia impacted by both human-made and natural disasters by providing emergency relief, education, access to clean water and healthcare, and safeguarding the rights of women and girls. Additionally, we focus on promoting sustainable socio-economic development and supporting peace-building initiatives with strong governance. Our work is guided by the principles of respect, fairness, quality, accountability, advocacy, and innovation.
We advocate for the equal participation of women in sustainable development programs, focusing on poverty reduction and addressing essential needs, with a particular emphasis on women's education. Our goal is to empower women to live with justice and uphold their rights.
